LinkedIn Strategies & corporate ROI using LinkedIn

My perspective on LinkedIn differs a bit from most people and can be read here and here.

Starting point
Nevertheless LinkedIn can be and probably is a good starting point for your marketing or sourcing strategy. Yet you don't want to waste time with aspects that don't give you any ROI. Your time on LinkedIn needs to be spend well and targeted.

Quantity versus quality oriented networking
Don't believe the marketingcampaign about how it should work. Remember: networking Portals such as LinkedIn always have one thing in mind: earning money from paying customers and that is a different goal than your networking goals.
Having tens of thousands direct contacts on LinkedIn and thus being one of the 50 most connected networkers I can tell you that there is no such thing as quality interaction on LinkedIn.

Networking
In normal life 'networking' means that you do something for someone else and hopefully get something back from the other. That relationship simply doesn't exist on LinkedIn, it is something I always tell to students hoping for more.
Instead regard LinkedIn as a valuable source for sourcing. If you use it correctly, you will learn how to use other tools than the introduction and mailing system within LinkedIn and be more effective.

This course
During this course (about 2 hrs online) I will show you tricks and tips to easily build multiple highly visible networks on LinkedIn. Also I will learn you how to use Deep Search engine outside LinkedIn in order to retrieve e.g. phone numbers and mailing addresses for targeted and personal interaction.

Recent Achievement:
The Power and Tools of OpenNetworkers.info is well recognized by the Mashable.com review:

7. Open Networkers

Open Networkers has over 5,000 members who are actively (and professionally) networking. The big differentiator with this community is the sheer amount of tools you have, such as their own toolbar, a website creator, gadgets and widgets, and a collection of RSS feeds in the site you can subscribe to. On the main page, you have your typical blog post collection and discussion threads, but also a FriendFeed (FriendFeed reviews) syndication of the latest web 2.0 developments. They have their own networking handbooks and a lot more.
