Expanation
Above you can see a 5 pointed star representing 5 different networking styles. We all use a different networking / communication style in our daily interactions. To make things a little easier I have defined 5 main groups of styles. If you take the short assessment on the Open Networkers either as a JobSeeker, or as a Networker seeking online Value you'll get a very basic hint of your own networking style.
There is no 'good' or 'wrong' behind it. Don't let yourself lead to the 'names' of certain styles and what they represent in real life. Being a 'Manager' in real life has a positive sound to it. We associate that with being a 'Leader', being 'Strong'. The fact of the matter is that all networking styles produced great Leaders, great role-models! Bill Clinton e.g. is a great charismatic 'Teamplayer', Ghandi was a perfect example of an 'Inventor' in his communication style and Dr Phil and 'Oprah' are very known 'Artists' to name a few.

The Value
Thus regard it as a help in order to find out which kind of company or which kind of other person fits your own networking style, because that is where the Value lies.

How the Model works
If you are able to find out what your true networking style is and you are able to assess the networking style of e.g. the company you want apply to, you can determine if there will be a long term fit.
In general: best matches are made if the networking styles are the same and working relationship can 'work' if they are the same or at least 'bordering' your networking style. If it is opposite to it (e.g. the 'Artist' is opposite to the 'Adviser' and the 'Inventor' and the 'Teamplayer' is opposite to the 'Manager' and the 'Adviser') NO working / personal relationship can be expected to succeed in the long run!
The reason behind it: you can only be expected to really be enthusiastic and passionate in your work if you can Be Yourself on the job. If you feel you have to adapt too much to networking / communication styles around you you'll never succeed. You can only keep up appearances for 'so long' until you will have to leave the non-matching environment. That sadly happens all the time. A lot of people start out their career in a certain area, following a career-path that really doesn't fit their true nature, their networking style. They base their new chances in life upon their 'past career and jobs' not their present passion. It is strange that recruitment is completely based upon that idea, we are just reading the past of someone in a CV and determine their future for they based upon that. However, for 60% of all people there is at least a partial mismatch in our career-path. We are being Led in our careers instead of Leading our careers and lifes.
We can do a lot better! Do start out with trying the short assessment as a JobSeeker or as a B2B networker and if you are interested and start thinking about a change in your life, be welcome to join the ON Masterclasses, where the Value begins.

Influencing & Leadership
The Model goes beyond recognizing networking styles. If you are able to assess networking styles of the people you are doing business with, you can determine the best networking actions towards them in order to create B2B value. E.g. you can choose to only do business with matching networking styled people or with a larger group, including also a bordering networking style. Also there is a process we all recognize as 'Being Charismatic' which leads to 'Leadership'. People who are able to be 'Charismatic' have the natural ability to be in the center of the networking model if and when they address untargeted audiences. That way they can reach out to a large amount of people, appeal to them beyond their own networking style. Some politicians have that ability (partially); e.g. Obama (who is an Inventor-type by nature) is able to charm and appeal to the Teamplayer types and even Managers types successfully and George Bush (who is a Manager-type by nature) was able to appeal to a lot of people using 'humor' to make a difference.
You clients' companies also have ruling networking styles. Sometimes that comes with the profession; Accountancy-firms e.g. can be expected to have a strong 'Advisor' type behavior. Media oriented companies (advertising / product marketing / sales) have a 'Artist' type behavior. Knowing that makes it easy to determine the best online networking action in order to have unique values creating real long term business..

The Power and Tools of OpenNetworkers.info is well recognized by the Mashable.com review:

7. Open Networkers

Open Networkers has over 5,000 members who are actively (and professionally) networking. The big differentiator with this community is the sheer amount of tools you have, such as their own toolbar, a website creator, gadgets and widgets, and a collection of RSS feeds in the site you can subscribe to. On the main page, you have your typical blog post collection and discussion threads, but also a FriendFeed (FriendFeed reviews) syndication of the latest web 2.0 developments. They have their own networking handbooks and a lot more.
